Location and History

Situated in the heart of Salford Quays, The Lowry is a unique venue for your wedding ceremony and celebrations. Their award-winning building with its magnificent waterside location will amaze both you and your guests. Set around impressive theatres and galleries, the interior is inspirational and vibrant, creating endless opportunities for photographs.

The Lowry’s waterfront location is just outside Manchester City Centre, in Salford Quays, with public transport links including a convenient tram stop and car parking opposite.

Interior and Spaces for Hire

The Lowry offers everything that you could possibly imagine to make your day extra special.

The Hexagon Room: Complete with its own bridged walkway, the intimate Hexagon Room has wonderful waterside views and is always a popular choice for Civil Ceremonies for up to 100 people, and smaller wedding breakfasts and evening celebrations for up to 60 guests. Walking to the room via the Hexagon Bridge, the colour, light and personality of The Lowry will be experienced by your guests. This internal bridge provides exciting views over the public promenades and is a perfect area for some stunning photographs.

The Compass Room: The Compass Room is a modern circular room, with floor to ceiling windows offering spectacular views of the surrounding waterways. Privately situated at the top of the building with its own balcony, you and your guests will be truly amazed by the views of the Quays and the Manchester skyline.

Drinks Reception Areas: Included in your room hire rate is a private bar area for your drinks reception. The Lowry have two unique bar areas, the Circle Bar and the Quays Bar. The Circle Bar has a spacious seating area and its own private outdoor balcony. The Quays Bar is located directly below the Compass Room, and has floor to ceiling windows, offering views of the waterways and some of Manchester’s most iconic buildings. The Lowry bar areas provide an ideal space for your guests to relax, while you take advantage of the fantastic photograph opportunities inside and outside The Lowry.

Catering: The Lowry’s Chefs have created a mouth-watering selection of menus that are perfect for your wedding breakfast. Made with the freshest of ingredients, their menus always impress. Your Wedding Co-ordinator will happily discuss your specific menu requirements.

At The Lowry, because they understand that each individual couple has different requirements, they do not offer a set drinks package. Your exact requirements will be discussed and a bespoke drinks package designed specifically for your wedding.

Only one.

Yes, you will have a dedicated Duty Manager to oversee your wedding; they will act as your toastmaster.

Do you allow candles and confetti?
Yes.

Do you provide a cake stand and knife?
Yes, a silver cake stand and a silver knife.

What time is the bar licensed until?
Until 1.00am.
