Location and History

The East Room is a wedding reception venue with a difference – retro décor, world-class drinks and a 24-hour licence so you can party ‘til dawn.

The emphasis at the East Room is on providing an uncomplicated and relaxed service and ambience with an emphasis on the quality of its food and drink. With an attitude to dining and wine you’re more likely to find in Melbourne or San Francisco than in London, the Dining Room offers the perfect space for a relaxed and informal wedding breakfast.

Interior and Spaces for Hire

The Dining Room

Airy and light with exposed brick walls and original artwork the Dining Room has its own fully stocked bar and is a gorgeous urban setting for a traditional wedding breakfast. The Dining Room is a flexible space catering for a la carte dining for up to 70 people, and up to 140 people for more informal DIY, BBQ or Rotisserie dining options.

The Dining Room has a seriously good PA and sound system so can double up after the feast as a dance floor for DJs, live bands or karaoke.

Adjoining the Dining Room is a cedar decked Terrace, offering a cool urban heated outside space which is great for BBQs and Hog Roasts for your evening party guests.

The Roof Garden

The Roof Garden with its cool and lounge-y rooftop Den is rich with the scents of eucalyptus trees and jasmine vines. Take it over for fun, fireworks or a photo opportunity. It is also the perfect place for the bride and groom to chill and relax for a while.

Stag and Hen

Before the big day the East Room can create fun and informal events for both brides and grooms to be. From group dining to Wine Try Outs, high octane cocktail mixing and tasting classes, retro tea parties and millinery workshops as well as Karaoke and pop quiz soirees, the East Room and it’s neighbouring bar/club, Sosho, can host unique experiences to bring you and your friends together before the big day. The Clubhouse Shoreditch - Alpine Lodge

For a winter reception and party with ‘views’ of the Mont Blanc massif and a (fairground) helicopter standing by to whisk you off for an Alpine honeymoon The Clubhouse is perfect for sinking into a comfy, cushioned sofa to enjoy the cosy warmth of a roaring open fire or for some après ski partying. From a bubbling three cheese fondue, a piping hot plate of tartiflette or mountain-sized portions of Pot au Feu (served straight from the fire), there’s plenty to satisfy your Alpine appetite. Wash it all down with vin chaud and start the party with some ice-cold Eristoff(ee) vodka shots. To lift the aprés-ski mood, groups can also buy the Grey Goose Glacier, a giant 4.5l rehoboam of frozen vodka (with all the mixers) encased in a block of ice or organise your own fireside ‘Keg Party’ by ordering an 88 pint barrel of beer with a DIY hand pump to help yourself. Designed with party and group bookings (of 20-40 guests) in mind, The Clubhouse, Shoreditch is available for daytime and group bookings in Dec, Jan or Feb. 50 Rooftop pop-up Alpine Lodge. Venue Charges

There is no venue hire!  The East Room dedicated events team will build a complete wedding package just for you, as it should be on your special day.  If there is something you need than the events team will source it for you at a preferential rate from a range of suppliers from Audio & Visual Specialists to Florists, Production and Décor, Music & DJs and Photography as well as Graphic Design and Print for those all important invitations.

About the East Room

The East Room opened to critical acclaim in February 2008 as a New World Wine & Dining Room featuring more than 50 of the greatest wines of the southern hemisphere available by the glass. As the latest venture of Jonathan Downey, owner of Milk & Honey and The Player (in Soho) and The Clubhouse in Chamonix.

Food and Drink

Artfully created by acclaimed chef Mark Broadbent (Great British Menu), the East Room dedicated events team can guide you through the right menu and packages for your event.  The food at The East Room is designed to work well with our extensive list of New World wines and includes lots of light, healthy and seasonal food that feels and tastes good to eat.

Alongside inspired 3 course set menus, packages include decadent DIY Dining, BBQ and Rotisserie Dining, a light and seasonally changing canapé menu and day and complete catering throughout the wedding day from the wedding breakfast to evening reception.
