1 Lombard Street, is the Brainchild of ex- banker and proprietor Soren Jessen, it was opened in 1998 and has now become a city institution. Executive Chef and General Manager Herbert Berger was initially poached by Soren and has since established with Head Chef Tim Richardson a remarkable venue. 1 Lombard Street is a former banking hall, with a Grade II listed neo classical interior, the 20-foot ceiling and domed skylights by Pietro Agostini makes it one of the most stunning settings in London.

Interior and Spaces for Hire

The venue is perfect for a wide variety of events including weddings, dinner dances, canapes and drinks receptions as well as bar/batmitzvahs. The private dining room adjacent to the restaurant’s vast wine cellars offers a luxurious setting for breakfasts, lunches and dinners seating up to 40 guests; it is ideal for meetings and presentations from 6 up to 20 guests boardroom style. 

Chef Partner, Herbert Berger, has created an array of irresistible modern European menus, firmly establishing 1 Lombard Street as the Square Mile’s premier venue. Menus are tailor-made to suit individual requirements and are coupled with an extensive wine list.

1 Lombard Street hosts significant numbers of events throughout the year, previous parties held on the premises include functions for Louis Vuitton, the BBC and Ralph Lauren.

The highly trained events team work closely with function organisers, supporting and advising on all elements of the planning to ensure each event is a complete success.

1 Lombard Street can accommodate up to 200 guests for a seating dinner or up to 450 for a canape reception. Live music and entertainment can be provided with a late license.
