So you have been with your man for sometime and you think the question is on the cards, somehow this does not prepare you for the actual event. I was completely surprised when my now fiancé proposed while we were on holiday in the rain forests of Belize. It was the most romantic evening which to my surprise he had planned in detail with all the staff at Black Rock Lodge www.blackrocklodge.com. In fact I think nearly all the other guests knew and it was only a surprise to me!

He had taken over the deck bellow the restaurant and as I walked down the steps I was greeted with a mass of candles and rain forest flowers, we had the most amazing meal and they had even managed to find a bottle of Champagne, not the most common of commodities in the rain forest. To be honest the whole thing was such a shock I couldn’t even taste the food but he assures me that it was delicious.

The ring commissioned from my favourite contemporary designer www.johayes.com fitted perfectly. We continued on our holiday the happiest we had ever been and decided that we wanted to get married this September. So starts this bridal blog where for the next twelve weeks I hope to share some of my experiences.

As this is funky wedding expect lashings of originality, modern solutions to age-old problems and not a meringue in sight.
